Shipper and Receiver

The Shipper and Receiver is responsible for expediting customer and inter-branch orders accurately and on time. This role is an integral part of the team who will co-operatively work with different departments within ECCO as well as warehouse personnel. The Shipper and Receiver will perform all duties in a timely and orderly fashion to the best of their abilities and with the utmost due care, integrity and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General Duties:

  • Make a personal commitment to consistently provide superior customer service to ECCO’s customers so they will want to do repeat business
  • Maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and ECCO employees
  • Read and comply with ECCO’s Human Resources Policies and Procedures
  • Read and comply with ECCO’s Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Assist in the success of ECCO’s Safety Program with suggestions, by setting a good example, and by ensuring that safety is at the forefront of your actions while at work.

Shipping and Receiving:

  • Work with different departments within ECCO, such as Logistics, Customer Service, Procurement, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products
  • Fill all orders as quickly and accurately as possible
  • Ensure inventory is ready for pick up
  • Maintain an accurate log sheet of shipments and inventory; ensure all discrepancies are handled immediately
  • Write up Bills of Lading
  • Contact carriers for in and out of town orders; as well as contact carriers for inspection of any damaged product
  • Promptly unload trailers and deliveries; as well as sorting and stocking receivables
  • Verify quantities and descriptions of all items received; sign freight bill accordingly
  • Neatly and accurately complete applicable receiving paperwork including stamp
  • Report any accidents, damages, shortages, and near-misses immediately to your supervisor
  • Forward receiving paperwork to Purchasing Department on a daily basis
  • Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment; as well as guarantee that products are being stored in a neat and orderly manner
  • Participate in yearly inventory counts
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by Management

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education degree is preferred
  • Experience in Logistics, Retail, or Customer service is an asset
  • Must have a forklift license
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50lb
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment; as well as ability to work within a team
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
