Job description

The Regional Director of Sales Branch Operations (the “RDSBO”) is a senior management position which is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient sales operations including the sales, marketing, and promotions of all products to achieve branch profitability of ECCO Supply sales branches in their designated region.

Generally, the RDSBO is part of the management team responsible for creating and maintaining a professional and well-run organization which is able to capitalize on new opportunities while meeting all the challenges of its existing business. All actions and decisions of the RDSBO will be considered carefully with the intent of fulfilling Company and Branch objectives including but not limited to sales, profit and other corporate goals and objectives established by management from time to time including customer satisfaction and employee.

Key responsibilities

General Duties:

  • Providing leadership and guidance to ECCO Supply Branch Managers and to all employees in their region as appropriate.
  • Consistently providing superior customer service to ECCO Supply customers so they will want to do repeat business.
  • Seeking out new business opportunities for recommendation to the Vice President and executive management.
  • Working effectively with all ECCO personnel in all divisions and operations providing an example of leadership through tact, diplomacy and spirit of cooperation.
  • Maintaining expert-level skills and industry knowledge required to fulfil the employee’s duties and responsibilities including sales, marketing, and operations as they relate to the HVAC-R industry, through education including seminars, training courses and industry events.
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed by all ECCO Supply employees including those pertaining to the sales and marketing to our customers and operations.
  • Meeting with and providing the Procurement Department with relevant and timely information regarding resale product sales. This information will include research analysis of projected sales forecasts, feedback results from customer surveys, and any other information that will assist in making buying decisions.
  • Providing the executive team and Company ownership with a monthly report detailing market conditions, updates on sales, operations and HR-related matters within their region and activities undertaken and planned by them and their team.

Operations

  • Leading, scheduling and planning for regular operations meetings and sales meetings with your management and sales personnel. These meetings should include regular monitoring of current operating effectiveness, efficiency, market conditions pertaining to pricing, competitor activity, and customer service issues. Analysis of sales trends with specific customers’ needs to be performed with consistent regularity. Marketing initiatives should also be discussed at appropriate times during these meetings.
  • Working with the Vice President and Corporate Controller in preparing annual sales and expense budgets for Sales Branches in their region.
  • Reviewing individual expense budgets and reports with your subordinate staff on at least a monthly basis to ensure that they are reasonable, appropriate, and conform to Company policies and procedures and for ensuring that anomalies or variances from budgets are examined and dealt with appropriately. Strict adherence to expense budgets needs to be maintained.
  • Keeping the Vice President informed of all pertinent information via telephone, email or personal meetings regarding:

o the performance of respective ECCO Supply branches in relation to its strategic operating and financial plans. Problems and challenges experienced by and/or opportunities available to Company.

o new contractors in respective markets and mergers of existing companies.

o Changes in principals, managers, etc. in our industry.

o new wholesalers marketing HVAC/R products.

o Competitive pricing in region.

o new trends taking place in the HVAC/R industry.

o Changes in products or lines on the market.

  • Assessing the marketplace and putting forward ideas to purchase or create new or improved products that could be distributed by ECCO Supply. This information is to be passed on to the Marketing and Procurement Departments for examination and development if approved by senior management including the Vice President & General Manager.
  • Establishing and maintaining first-class business relationships with our Sales Branch customers including large wholesalers.

 

Human Resources

  • Ensuring periodic performance reviews of regional employees and making wage and bonus recommendations to the Vice President & General Manager for approval. With the support of the HR Team, communicating performance reviews and actions to the employees.
  • Recruiting and terminating regional employees, with the approval of the Vice President, and support from the HR Team.
  • Ensuring that the ECCO Supply branches employ the optimal number of qualified associates required to meet corporate objectives.
  • Supporting human resources planning to ensure that Sales Branches have appropriate succession plans in place.
  • Creating and maintaining a professional but energetic and enthusiastic workplace environment to aid in the recruitment and retention of exceptional high-performance employees while effectively promoting ECCO Supply to our customers.
  • Due to the dynamic nature of this Company the duties and responsibilities of the ROSSO may reasonably change from time to time.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience overseeing $30M+ revenue OR experience in a Branch Manager role, or Sales Management role with any ECCO Supply branch.
  • A degree or college diploma in administration, accounting, business, engineering or management.
  • Leadership experience either with ECCO or any previous employer.
  • Applied knowledge and understanding of HVAC systems.
  • Strong track record of exceeding company sales targets in a complex sales environment.
  • Proven ability to influence and develop employees to achieve objectives with a team approach.
  • Business acumen (sound judgement, managerial perspective and basic business understanding).
  • Willingness to continually upgrade skills via education, coaching or other training opportunities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year

Schedule: 8-hour shift
