Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Outside Sales Associate to grow our commercial HVAC business through the promotion and sale of rooftop HVAC units (RTUs) and related solutions. This role focuses on developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting contractors, engineers, property managers, and building owners with HVAC equipment solutions for commercial applications.
The successful candidate will combine technical knowledge, consultative selling skills, and strong customer service to drive revenue growth and expand market presence.
Key Responsibilities
General Duties:
- Make a personal commitment to consistently provide superior customer service to ECCO’s customers so they will want to do repeat business with ECCO Supply
- Maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and ECCO employees
- Read and comply with ECCO’s Human Resources Policies and Procedures
- Read and comply with ECCO’s Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
- Assist in the success of ECCO’s Safety Program with suggestions, by setting a good example, and by ensuring that safety is at the forefront of your actions while at work
- Develop and maintain relationships with:
- Mechanical contractors
- Consulting engineers
- Building owners and property managers
- General contractors
- Facility maintenance teams
- Identify and pursue new commercial HVAC sales opportunities within assigned territory.
- Promote and sell commercial rooftop units (RTUs), replacement equipment, and related HVAC products and services.
- Conduct site visits and customer meetings to evaluate project requirements and recommend appropriate HVAC solutions.
- Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and equipment selections.
- Coordinate with internal estimating, engineering, operations, and service teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding project updates, equipment lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Track sales activities, opportunities, and forecasts within CRM software.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to build relationships and generate leads.
- Stay current on HVAC industry trends, energy efficiency standards, building codes, and competitor offerings.
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales and gross margin targets.
- Other duties as deemed necessary by Management
Due to the dynamic nature of this Company the duties and responsibilities may reasonably change from time to time.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in commercial HVAC, mechanical equipment, or building systems.
- Knowledge of commercial rooftop units, HVAC systems, ventilation, controls, and mechanical applications preferred.
- Strong ability to build long-term customer relationships and develop new business opportunities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications is considered an asset.
- Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout assigned territory.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with HVAC manufacturers, distributors, or mechanical contractors.
- Understanding of commercial replacement projects and plan/spec opportunities.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient HVAC technologies and rebate
